Sometimes we don’t say “goodbye” — just “see you again someday.” That was the feeling one late night when this song came to life.

A friend had loaned me a beautiful Gibson J45, but I’d been too sick with the flu to play it. On the last night before returning it, I opened the case, tuned it roughly into an accidental alt-tuning, and immediately… the song began to arrive.

New chords, unexpected melodies, and lyrics poured out. I set up a single mic to capture the moment. What started as a demo became the take — honest, unpolished, and resonating deeply with folks so far.

"The Other Side" is a reminder that sometimes the rawest moments hold the most truth, in both painful loss and hope for reunion. And, I’m happy to say: the separation that inspired this song has since come full circle. Homecomings are real. Happy Birthday, LA.

Lyrics

Sunrising
Day has come
The moment of truth’s begun
And all the while
What will be, will be

Wake the dawn
Wind like bells
No alarm warns this well
Wondering what will be
And what will come when our time comes

Waiting on and hanging on
Won’t make you stay

Morning calls
Message clear
Time for all
Time we fear
And waiting on and hanging on won’t make you stay

Come around when you will
Hope my best serves you well
And I’ll be with you
On the other side
On the other side
On the other side
